New Delhi: Changing the weather patterns in North India including Delhi-UP has brought some relief to the people suffering from the scorching heat. Delhi-NCR received light rain after the storm on Thursday evening. At the same time, Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern UP received rains. This has led to a drop in temperature. There may be light rain in Delhi even today.

Orange alert of rain in 9 states

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has today issued an orange alert for a total of nine states, fearing heavy rains in these areas. The states for which rain warnings have been issued include Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and parts of Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Eastern Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

Rain alert with strong winds here

According to the Meteorological Department, dust storm is likely to run at sporadic places in western Rajasthan. Many districts may rain. Apart from this, rain warnings have been issued today in Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Golgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh. In Uttarakhand, there is a possibility of rain on Friday i.e. thunderstorms, power and strong winds (speed of 40-50 kmph).

Possibility of heavy rains in Bihar

There is a possibility of heavy rains in Bihar on 11 April. A warning of heavy rains has been issued on 13 April in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh Assam and Meghalaya. During this time hailstorms can also occur in many places. Celestial lightning can also fall. There may be rain in Punjab today. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Karnataka are likely to rain during the next 5 days with thunderstorms, power and strong winds (speed 40-50 kmph).

Heatwave alert here

According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, heatstroke is likely in Rajasthan, South Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Western Rajasthan and 16 April from April 14 to 16 are expected to run in East Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. Many parts of north-west India, parts of eastern India and maximum temperature in Gujarat are likely to be 1-3 degrees Celsius above normal. In the rest of the country, it is close to normal or less than normal.
